What we keep, and who sees it.
Dusklamp checks things for you and emails you when something changes. To do that, we keep some information about you and your watch. This page says what we keep, where it lives, and who else handles it. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@dusklamp.com. It reaches a person.
What we keep
- Your ask, in your own words, with any detail you add.
- Your email address.
- When you asked and when you confirmed, and the tag on the link you arrived by, if it had one.
- What we find for your watch: dated items from public sources (a headline, a link, a price) and the briefs we write from them.
- Your alert choices. If you add Telegram or browser alerts to a watch, we also keep the Telegram chat or browser address needed to reach you.
We save your ask and your email as soon as you send the form, before you confirm. If you never confirm, nothing starts, but the saved request stays until you ask us to delete it.
There are no accounts and no passwords, and we do not ask for a card. Your private link is the way into your page.
Where it lives
In private GitHub repositories, which are not public, and on a computer we run ourselves. Your watch page is served by Vercel at a private link. Anyone who has that link can open the page, so keep it to yourself.
Who else handles it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except the services below, each for the job named.
- Vercel serves this site and runs the code behind the request form. It keeps the ordinary logs any web host keeps.
- GitHub stores our private repositories and runs the daily job that builds your page and sends your alerts.
- Resend sends our emails, so it sees your address and what we send you.
- AgentMail is our operations inbox. After you confirm, we send a copy of the “Got it” email there. It contains your ask and your private link.
- Cloudflare and Gmail. Mail sent to hello@dusklamp.com, including a reply to any of our emails, is forwarded by Cloudflare to a person’s Gmail inbox and to the AgentMail inbox.
- Google News and public search engines. To find and check sources, we search with words from your ask, never your email address. We search Google News, and a search server we run ourselves, which passes the search on to public search engines. The same searches repeat each time we check. Please leave out anything you would not want typed into a search box.
- The sites we watch. Our computer fetches the pages and feeds your watch follows, such as a product page you named or a stock price, so those sites see our visit, not yours.
- A language model on a computer we run reads the items we find and writes your brief.
- Telegram and your browser’s push service, if you turn those alerts on.
People: whoever runs Dusklamp can read your ask, your address and your watch’s data, for example to set up or fix a watch.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it. We do not delete watches on a timer. Stopping or pausing the emails does not delete your request, your page or your watch.
Stop the emails
Every alert email we send has a link at the bottom to pause that watch’s alerts, and another to stop emails to your address for that watch. You can also reply to any email and ask us to stop, including for every watch on your address. If an email to you bounces for good, or you mark one of ours as spam, we remove your address from the alert list of every watch it is on.
If you get a confirmation email you did not ask for, ignore it. Nothing starts until the confirm button is pressed.
Delete
To delete a watch, write to hello@dusklamp.com or reply to any email from us. A person will delete your request, your address, your watch’s data and your page. Two things can outlast a deletion: earlier versions of files in the history of our private repositories, and records kept by the services above under their own rules.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and has no ads or analytics scripts. Your browser saves a list of your watch links, and what you asked, on your own device so that “Your watches” can show them. That list stays on your device.
